Indian education system is long been condemned by academicians and think tanks. Millions of children in India are not enrolled in any school even today. This converts a huge chunk of Indian participatory population into a liability to the nation. The responsibility to deliver quality education is often being shouldered on the government. Amidst debates and policies, few good samaritans fulfill their duty towards the society.

A little search on Google will help you pleasantly realize that there are numerous individuals who are giving the gift of education to countless underprivileged. One such name is Mr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, who is teaching slum kids of Yamuna Bank since a decade, under the Yamuna Bank metro station. Mr. Jainendra Jigyasu works in night shifts just to teach more than 200 slum children of Okhla. He teaches students from 2 - 4 pm, after they are back from schools. Then, he teaches students studying in senior classes, from 5-7 pm.

A never heard before school has been initiated by Mr. P.C Rajaratnam, former army officer and chairman of General Raj's School in Hauz Khas, South Delhi. He runs a school, housed in a bus that is equipped with pull-down tables on the backs of its seats, hanging blackboards, charts and even fans for the ones who cannot afford an education.

Ms. Radhika Mittal who herself is a Political Science graduate from the National University of Singapore has decided to run a free after school learning program. Super School India is a kind initiative for the underprivileged children.

We salute the spirit of these generous souls!
